Congratulations are in order for Connor Ian Moore of Timberlea, Nova Scotia. Armed only with his wand, the Northwest Rebels player made some magic happen on camera and can now call himself the 2009 Reebok Stick Trick Challenge grand champion.
Connor’s routine, unlike some tricksters, was actually made up on the spot, the 14 year old victor told us. It’s not exactly shocking that he’d have some tricks up his sleeve, however, as he has played lacrosse since he was able to walk. He is also pals with 2008’s Reebok Stick Trick Challenge winner Sam Martin, with whom he can now debate who is the BEST overall.
In the finals, Connor took nearly 60% of the total votes, racking up over 4,700 of the 8,000 votes, topping the No. 2 trickster by just under 2,000 tallys. He didn’t say what he’d use his Grand Prize - a $1,000 Reebok shopping spree - on, but hopefully he can parlay the victory into more chances to see the Toronto Rock and his favorite player, Colin Doyle.
Congrats Connor!
